Analysis How Yoon’s off-the-cuff remark about Iran could strain diplomatic relationsTehran miffed after South Korean president appears to liken Iran to North Korea President Yoon Suk-yeol had a successful diplomatic trip this week to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he secured $30 billion in investments for key industries and billions more in memorandums of understanding (MOUs). However, a careless remark about the UAE’s much larger northern neighbor, Iran, could strain relations between Seoul and Tehran.
