Ambassador Xing Haiming said Seoul would regret siding with US over China, which some have interpreted as veiled threat
Tensions between South Korea and China have bubbled to the surface this week, after China’s ambassador to South Korea made controversial remarks about Seoul’s efforts to bolster ties with Washington.
In a meeting with Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung on Thursday, Ambassador Xing Haiming said, “I can say definitely that those betting on China’s defeat will certainly regret it later.”
