Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko visited Seoul on Friday for talks with South Korean officials amid concerns over Russia’s military cooperation with North Korea. Discussions with Deputy Foreign Minister Chung Byung-won focused on the Ukrainian war and bilateral relations. South Korea expressed a strong stance against Russia’s increasing military ties with Pyongyang, urging “responsible behavior” from Moscow, particularly regarding the rights of South Korean businesses and citizens in Russia.
Rudenko’s visit also included talks with South Korea’s top nuclear envoy, Kim Gunn, who emphasized the need for Russia to comply with United Nations Security Council resolutions, including ceasing all military cooperation with North Korea.
