Briefings South Korea, Qatar shift ties toward capital-backed tech investment pushSeoul seeks to link manufacturing and AI capabilities with Qatari capital but faces geopolitical and financial risks South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIR) said on Wednesday that Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo met Qatar’s Minister of State for Trade Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed in Seoul to discuss expanding bilateral investment cooperation in advanced industries, including semiconductors and biotechnology. The meeting follows an April 13 visit to Doha by a presidential special envoy for strategic economic cooperation, and was aimed at translating those discussions into concrete outcomes.
