South Korea’s government on Wednesday rolled out a wide-ranging package of policies set to take effect in 2026, aimed at easing household burdens and strengthening economic resilience, following discussions at a Cabinet meeting. The Ministry of Economy and Finance said the package spans tax relief, welfare, labor, transport and regional development measures, alongside initiatives intended to support long-term industrial competitiveness.

As part of the package, the government unveiled the Manufacturing AI Transformation (M.AX) Alliance, a public-private initiative designed to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across core manufacturing sectors.
