South Korean President Lee Jae-myung departed Sunday for Kuala Lumpur to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders’ meetings, his first trip to the region since taking office. During the two-day visit, Lee is scheduled to hold a summit with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to discuss the countries’ strategic partnership and cooperation against online-scam crimes, attend the ROK-ASEAN and ASEAN+3 summits and meet Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to explore ways to expand trade, investment, infrastructure and defense-industry cooperation.
