Briefings South Korea posts robust job rate, but gains concentrated in older workersHealthcare and services led May’s 245,000 job gain, while construction and manufacturing continued to shrink South Korea’s job market continued to improve in May, with the employment rate for people aged 15 to 64 rising to 70.5%, the highest on record for that age group. The country added 245,000 jobs compared to a year ago, bringing the total number of employed people to 29.16 million. Most of the gains came from jobs in healthcare, professional services and finance, while sectors like farming, construction and manufacturing saw job losses.
