Trade talks with US leaders highlight collaboration opportunities and the value of South Korean companies
South Korea’s trade minister Ahn Duk-geun wrapped up a four-day visit to Georgia and Washington, D.C. on Friday. Meeting Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai and key legislators, Ahn pushed for stronger supply chain links and protections for South Korean companies investing billions in U.S. states like Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama. Talks with Indiana Senator Todd Young included collaboration on rebuilding the U.S. shipbuilding industry through the SHIPS for America Act.
Ahn also met state legislators and South Korean businesses like SK On and Hyundai Motor Group, emphasizing their role in driving jobs and economic growth in the U.S. states they have invested in.
