South Korean and Chinese senior foreign and defense officials held their “two plus two” talks on Tuesday. The South Korean delegation, led by First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun and Director General for International Policy Lee Seung-beom, met with the Chinese delegation, which included Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Zhang Baoqun, Deputy Director of the Office for International Military Cooperation.

The dialogue followed an agreement between South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and Chinese Premier Li Qiang at last month’s ROK-Japan-China trilateral summit. Key topics for discussion included bilateral relations, the Korean Peninsula’s security situation and broader regional and international issues.
