LIG Nex1, a South Korean defense company, is set to embark on a collaborative venture with Germany’s TAURUS Systems for the co-development of the TAURUS KEPD 350K-2 cruise missile, as per the agreement formalized at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2023. This agreement, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), brings together the two companies’ technical expertise and aims to respond to the burgeoning demand for advanced missiles, particularly against the backdrop of the FA-50 fighter jets’ export expansion.

The joint endeavor primarily focuses on refining and reducing the size of the existing TAURUS KEPD 350K missiles, positioning them for international markets. This collaboration highlights LIG Nex1’s move to leverage its guided weapons technology in the competitive aerospace sector. The agreement signifies a mutual commitment between LIG Nex1 and TAURUS Systems to share technological insights and strategize concrete plans for the co-development project, potentially influencing the dynamics of military defense capabilities globally.
