Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday urged South Korea to provide weapons, according to Kyiv’s state-run news agency Ukrinform upon the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of the country. His request comes a month after a similar remark made by North Atlantic Organization (NATO) chief Jens Stoltenberg during his two-day visit to Seoul.
South Korea has provided only non-lethal aid to Ukraine, citing its position not to supply arms to countries engaged in armed conflicts. This includes Seoul adding 741 more trading items subject to export restrictions against Russia on Friday and offering $130 million (170 billion won) in humanitarian assistance to Kyiv.
