His agenda includes meetings with global leaders to address critical issues around supply chains, security and emerging partnerships in energy, infrastructure, and defense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During his time in Latin America, Yoon will likely meet with U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. This visit, Yoon\u2019s first to the region since taking office, highlights South Korea\u2019s aim to expand its influence and strengthen diplomatic relations with APEC and G20 member states.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>WHY IT MATTERS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yoon\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/koreapro.org\/2024\/10\/south-korea-and-japan-eye-stronger-ties-but-history-and-strategy-complicate-path\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">second meeting<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with Ishiba comes at a key moment as the two leaders tackle shared security and economic challenges.
