As an expert on East Asia, Ivre covers military affairs for KOREA PRO.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Joel Petersson Ivre is a policy fellow at the Asia-Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (APLN). In this role, he is responsible for managing two dialogue projects aimed at mitigating conflict risks within the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n Ivre\u2019s research primarily focuses on security issues in the Asia-Pacific, with a particular emphasis on Chinese politics and foreign policy, as well as nuclear dynamics on the Korean Peninsula. Ivre began his career through internships at the East Asia Institute in Seoul and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.<\/p>\n Additionally, he contributes to Kinamedia, a Swedish news platform that specializes in reporting on China and surrounding regions. Ivre holds a Master\u2019s degree in East Asian Studies and International Security and Foreign Policy from Yonsei University\u2019s Graduate School of International Studies. He earned his Bachelor\u2019s degree in Chinese Language and Culture from Stockholm University.<\/p>\n
