As an expert on South Korean politics, Engel covers South Korean politics and history for KOREA PRO.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Benjamin A. Engel is a research professor at the Institute of International Affairs, Seoul National University. He earned his Ph.D. in International Studies in 2022 from the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University. Prior to this, he completed his Master\u2019s degree in Korean Studies at the same institution in 2014.<\/p>\n Engel\u2019s professional journey includes his tenure as a researcher at the Institute of Peace and Unification Studies at Seoul National University and the East Asia Institute.<\/p>\n His research focus is primarily on the history of U.S.-South Korea relations and modern Korean History. He has made significant contributions to the academic community through his peer-reviewed articles, published in journals such as the Korea Observer and The Korean Journal of International Studies.<\/p>\n
