However, it does not appear that the DP will be able to secure a supermajority as it did in 2020 due to the emergence of former justice minister Cho Kuk’s Rebuilding Korea Party (RKP), which has siphoned off a significant number of progressive voters. With South Korea’s April 10 general elections less than a day away, polls and different parties forecast the opposition Democratic Party (DP) is likely to win.
